Educational Therapy is an established profession in the United States and in a number of other countries. Educational therapists are highly trained, degree-qualified professionals from the fields of education, psychology or health, who have undertaken specialist, postgraduate-level training in Educational Therapy.
Educational Therapists provide personalised remedial instruction to children and young people with learning challenges, including but not limited to dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning deficits, and language, visual and auditory processing issues. Educational Therapy draws on the best available science from education, psychology and other professions. It is not an exercise program.
Educational therapists understand the social, behavioral and emotional factors that can impact learning. They have extensive training and experience in administering academic assessments, developing intervention plans, and implementing strategies to addresses challenges with reading, writing, spelling, maths, organisational skills, and study skills.
